Mr. WCHS, a tradition at Woodford County High School that entertains the masses once every year. Some call it a talent show while others call it a humiliation ritual. While it’s still up for debate on what Mr. WCHS really is, there’s no doubt that it’s a “can’t-miss” experience. This year, the program intends to build upon its success in previous years, hosting a large number of participants for the 2026 event, showcasing notorious figures in Woodford County. These include Seniors: Parker Ishmael, Carson Bugg, Cole Humston, Declan Cosby, Jay Wells, Ty Henry, Earle Stilwell, Evan Shewmaker, Sam Hash, Preston Graham, Sam Taylor, Evan Taylor, Leland Newell, Carlos Hernandez, and Tony Seng. Alongside them are the Juniors: Bennet Dowdell, Beechem Robbins, Max Marra, Aiden Jones, and Sam Senters.
Mr. WCHS consists of a group opening number routine performed by all of the participants and their little brothers. Little brothers are elementary-aged children who participate in the show with the high schoolers in the opening dance. It serves as a symbolic nod to the next generation of “entertainers” and showcases the tight-knit bond within the Woodford County community. Shortly after that, the individual acts begin. This year, these acts range anywhere from iconic movie scene recreations, playing instruments, dancing, singing, and finding any and every way to entertain the crowd. In previous years, students from the local Janes School of Dance helped choreograph the opening numbers. This year, Erin Beth Baker (11) is taking over as the head choreographer with help from Campbell Gibson (12), who choreographed the dance last year.
One of the main contributors to Mr. WCHS is Genos Formal Affair. Genos provides male participants with a suit of their choice to showcase their style and formality, while also generating publicity and advertising for Genos. Recently, the participants went to Genos, were fitted, and picked out some outstanding suits. Viewers should expect to see an array of color vibrancy and style come Saturday.
The boys have been working diligently to perfect their opening number, spending time at Jane’s School of Dance with their choreographers Erin Baker and Campbell Gibson. Sam Senters said, “It’s exciting, but it’s also pretty nerve-racking. There’s a lot to remember with this dance.” Decland Cosby added, “It’s a very elaborate dance, but I think a lot of people will be blown away, especially by certain parts, but I can’t spoil the surprise.”
Mr. WCHS will be at the new high school on Saturday, February 28th, at 7 pm in the WCHS auditorium. Jacket Journal encourages everyone to go and support the participants and enjoy some quality entertainment that cannot be found elsewhere.

Jerry Ukulele here. This article was an amazing read. It made the show sound so theatrical. It influenced me to actually make the Mr. WCHS showing. The show itself was amazing. All the boys looked so handsome in their suits. The only negative of this article was that it made me jealous that I did not get to perform in a male beauty padget like this when I was in school. Overall this is a 8.4/10 article. Sam Hash did an amazing job. Jerry Ukulele out.
