Last week, on Friday the 19th the Woodford County District had its first traditional non-NTI snow day. This was very exciting for all students across the district who were able to have the first full day off from school and get to hang out with friends or just being able to relax and have a long weekend.
Me and my friends had decided that since it was a snow day and we had no NTI work to complete we should do something fun. We all decided together that we should go play football in the snow. We decided to play 3v3 on the falling springs field.
Gavin Banks, Chase Lee, and Carson Kelly ended up winning the first-ever snow bowl 49-35 over Jay Wells, Declan Cosby, and Blake Burns. Carson ended up throwing 5 passing touchdowns and had a defensive interception. Gavin had 4 receiving touchdowns and 325 yards on the day. Chase had 2 receiving touchdowns, 1 rushing touchdown, and a passing touchdown. We all had a lot of fun despite being in the cold snowy weather.
I interviewed my friends later asking what their thoughts were on playing in the snow bowl on our first snow day of the year. Carson’s response was,” I was hesitant to go at first because it was so cold but it ended up being a lot of fun.” I also interviewed Blake and he said,” It was a great exciting time with friends. Even though my team lost due to me being a liability on defense, it was still really fun, and I felt my offense did pretty good.” We all enjoyed spending the snow day together and look forward to any and all upcoming snow days in the future.
