Apple releases new iPhones every year, from the original iPhone to the most recently released iPhone Air, with significant improvements in technology and design. However, with the rise in edge-cutting technology comes a cost: the price of each phone seems to increase by around $100 every year. A lot of controversy surrounds this subject, as money isn’t freely available. People are growing increasingly concerned about these rising prices and feel that the new iPhones aren’t impressing them with the amount of money being spent on them. But can the newest iPhone change their mind? Will it change yours?
On September 19, 2025, Apple dropped its newest iPhone, the iPhone Air, claiming it to be the thinnest iPhone with remarkable performance. A breakthrough design that features a titanium frame and a large 6.5-inch display, with a new plateau on the back that houses the camera, speaker, and Apple silicon, which powers the device. With this design, Apple was able to deliver all-day battery life, given the additional space allocated for it.
Sounds nice, right? Well, it definitely sounds great on paper, but what about in real life?
Adam Kirk, a Woodford County resident who is intrigued by new technology and is part of the Apple iPhone upgrade program, has modernized to the iPhone Air and is willing to share his thoughts. When asked about the new design of the iPhone Air, Kirk claims, “This is the first year Apple gave us a new design for an iPhone that breaks the mold from the traditional look of the past four to five years. With the lightweight design, it is easy for me to keep my iPhone in my front pocket without any bulk or resistance.” This advancement will undoubtedly make everyday life easier for everyone, as it will blend more seamlessly into daily life. Later on, Kirk was asked whether he recommends the iPhone Air, and responded, “I would recommend it for people who are looking for a new design, but if you are looking for the traditional iPhone experience, I would go with a cheaper, less recent iPhone. I say this because the iPhone Air has the same operating system as past traditional iPhones, making the technology slim to nothing better than the iPhone before, only a change in design, which is unique but nothing life-changing.”
The iPhone Air’s creation has definitely been an improvement on Apple’s side, but based on real-life comparisons and experiences, it lacks significant changes – changes that are necessary to intrigue people into wanting the newest iPhones. Without it, the iPhone Air is nothing more than a past traditional iPhone, redesigned into a new shape and form.
