Mrs. Fitts was nominated by teachers Kristy Carroll and Douglas LaRue. Carroll says she nominated Fitts because “she pours her heart into teaching and into her students because she wants to see her students do well.” Carroll is also a special education teacher who works alongside Mrs. Fitts while LaRue teaches Global Studies. Being teacher of the year is a great accomplishment and definitely something to be proud of; Mrs. Fitts is very deserving. Students are sure this will not be her last award or recognition.
