Movies are a well-known staple in the entertainment world. Almost everyone has been to the movies or seen a movie at some point in time. You can find a movie pretty much anywhere except for newly released movies. 2024 was a solid year for new big-hit movie releases. Let’s look at the top five movies of 2024 so far.
The 5th most popular movie of 2024 was Twisters. This movie in my opinion was phenomenal. It was a high-action-packed movie with suspense and making the audience feel like they were in the movie with the actors. This movie made around $267 million with almost 25 million tickets sold. I interviewed Blake Burns about his thoughts when seeing this movie for the first time and he said, “It was an awesome movie and I was hyped and slap happy after. I wanted to become a storm chaser after but those dreams faded.”
Coming in at 4th is Dune: Part Two. I never got the chance to see this movie for myself but I heard that it is also an action movie with some intense fight scenes. This movie earned about $282 million with 26 million tickets sold. I asked Chase Lee about his feelings since watching this movie for the first time recently. His response was, “I loved it, I was very entertained and the movie was very action-packed and well made.”
Landing a spot at 3rd was Despicable Me 4. This movie was definitely a fan favorite. I went to see it the day after it was released. It did nothing but meet and exceed my expectations. This movie was more in the adventure category and very funny as well. This movie made $361 million with around 33 million tickets sold.
In second place we have the film Deadpool & Wolverine. This movie was definitely an action-category of film. I didn’t see this one but I heard that it was pretty solid. It totaled a big jump from 3rd place with $634 million and almost 59 million tickets being sold.
Coming in as the #1 is Inside Out 2. This movie was excellent and resonated with a lot of kids that have grown up. It was a very well-executed movie and was a top choice for a movie that a family can go watch together. This movie made $652 million and sold over 60 million tickets.
