Mamma Mia!

A short review of WCHS’ most recent dramatic production.

On April 21st-23rd, Woodford County High School put on the play Mamma Mia. This was the perfect play for the cast as every role was played spot on. Even though I’ve never been someone who loves plays and goes to them just for fun, this play changed my perspective drastically. Seeing people with that much talent on the stage that you never knew that person was even cable of doing is really amazing and surprising to see. It’s crazy to me how I never noticed these people in the hallway before I went to see them perform, but now I seem to notice the cast all the time, and it makes me think about how talented they are, and they don’t get as much recognition they deserve.

I think that my perspective on plays before was greatly impacted by those weird school field trip plays, so I never thought of it being something I would ever enjoy.

But my message to anyone reading this is, to give it a try, go with a friend and pick a play that you might have an interest in. For example, Mamma Mia is a movie that knew of and is a pretty popular movie and has popular soundtracks that I was familiar with. With this being said, I think that you should find a play that you are familiar with and know anything about, like a movie, turned into a play. Another one of my recommendations is to go support your schools and go to a school play, and you’ll be surprised how much fun you’ll have.
