As the regular season comes to an end, the NFL playoffs begin. The 2025-2026 season has been an interesting one, marked by the surprising number of teams that made the playoffs despite having a negative record last season. For example, the Carolina Panthers went 5-12, but this season they overcame multiple obstacles and ended up with an 8-9 record, winning their division.
The current 2025 NFL Playoff picture looks like this: The #1 seed for the AFC(American Football Conference) is the Denver Broncos; the #2 seed is the New England Patriots, facing the #7 seed Los Angeles Chargers; the #3 seed Jacksonville Jaguars are facing the #6 seed Buffalo Bills; and then finally the #4 seed Pittsburgh Steelers are facing the #5 seed Houston Texans.
On the NFC side of the playoffs it looks like this, The Seattle Seahawks pulled off the #1 seed, then, the #2 seed Chicago Bears facing the #7 seed Green Bay Packers, then the #3 seed Philadelphia Eagles are going against the San Francisco 49ers and finally the #4 seed panthers are battling against the #5 seed Los Angeles Rams.
Now that we know what the playoffs look like, it’s time for the predictions, beginning with the AFC side of the playoffs.
The Patriots and Bills will make a deep playoff run, based on their experience in the playoffs and the strength of their offenses. In the divisional round, the Broncos will win against the Texans but then lose to the Bills in the AFC Championship; therefore, the Super Bowl LIX matchup will be the Bills against Rams, and I believe the Rams will come out on top and win their third Super Bowl.
Now, for the NFC side of the playoffs, I interviewed Austin Feese, a classmate of mine who is passionate about the NFL. This is what he predicted: “The Rams, Bears, and Eagles will be the teams coming out of the Wild Card round of the NFC.” Going based on Austin’s predictions, the Divisional round matchups will be the #5 seed Los Angeles Rams at the #1 seed Seattle Seahawks, and the #3 seed Philadelphia Eagles at the #2 seed Chicago Bears for the NFC.” I asked him to predict these matchups, and he said, “I think the Rams beat the Seahawks in a close game and the Eagles beat the Bears in a defensive game.” For the championship matchups, I think the Rams are gonna beat the Eagles. This means that I think the Super Bowl LIX matchup will be between the Los Angeles Rams and the Denver Broncos. I think the team that will win the Super Bowl is the Los Angeles Rams”.
The excitement and tension around the NFL playoffs continues to build up as the days pass by. The unexpected number of teams that made the playoffs this year makes the 2025-2026 season special in its own way. Even though Feese and I both predicted the Rams to win, the NFL is incredibly unpredictable, and anything could happen once the playoffs begin.
