Adaline Dorsey is a Senior midfielder on the Woodford County High School Lady Jackets Varsity soccer team. This is her fifth year on the High School team and her thirteenth year playing soccer as a whole—but have no fear, she won’t stop there.
Dorsey has been exploring various schools to continue her soccer journey, including Greensboro College, Guilford College, Piedmont University, and the University of South Carolina Beaufort, all of which have equally reached out, back and forth to her. She also plans to apply to other schools in addition to these main four. Adaline has dreamed of playing soccer in college since she was a little girl, so she strives to achieve this goal for her younger self.
During the High School season, the team has practice five days a week, ranging from early mornings to late nights, depending on the day. Even though the number of practices is consistent, the location varies from the weight room, to Community Stadium, to the new practice field. The High School season starts in July and ends in mid to late October, but that’s not when training ends for Dorsey.
Even outside of Lady Jackets, Adaline doesn’t have much of an off season. The High School season ends and club soccer begins in mid-November, then ends in May with a short break in the winter. She usually has the summer to rest, but even during her short-lived time off, Dorsey stays busy with personal training—lifting weights to maintain her physical strength, eating a nutritious diet, and staying engaged in soccer. She wakes up at 5:45 and works out until 6:30 each morning.
One unique thing Adaline has done throughout her soccer journey is posting daily workout posts on her Instagram. She is currently on day 832. Through these posts Adaline has found a way to hold herself accountable for her workouts and activities, record her accomplishments and progress, and to benefit her soccer activity and mindset every day.
Adaline has exciting plans for her soccer career, and Woodford County Lady Jackets has prepared her well.
