A look at my growth in the kitchen during quarantine.

Homemade butterscotch pie filling, topped with meringue. My first ever pie and I am super pleased with how it turned out.
I have always enjoyed cooking and baking, so quarantine really gave me time to get more experienced in the kitchen. I enjoy straying away from recipes and adding my own spin to the foods I make. Here’s a look at some of the foods I have cooked or baked during the quarantine.
-
White wine pasta topped with shrimp scampi, served with mussels, & seasoned green beans. Shrimp is one of my absolute favorites, however I am not a fan of mussels at all.
'
-
Marbled pumpkin cheesecake bars. I made this dessert for Thanksgiving of 2020, and I did follow a recipe for these. They turned out delicious.
'
-
Made from scratch buttermilk breakfast biscuits.
'
-
Strawberry cake, covered in strawberry frosting, topped with fresh strawberries, & bordered with white chocolate ganache.
'
-
Dressed eggs made with my grandmother’s, Dawn Brown, secret recipe, topped with parsley leaves for decoration.
'
-
Hand-mashed potatoes, spiced up with cream cheese, butter, ranch seasoning, & parsley. Once you eat these, you won’t want your typical mashed potatoes with butter & salt again.
'
-
Vanilla cake with folded in Oreo chunks, covered in homemade buttercream Oreo frosting, & bordered with milk chocolate ganache, as well as more Oreos.
'
-
My first ever homemade cheese ball.
'
-
Made from scratch snickerdoodles, topped with melting snowmen.
'
-
Three ingredient Christmas Oreo balls, garnished with gold sprinkles & crushed candy cane. My favorite dessert.
'

Homemade butterscotch pie filling, topped with meringue. My first ever pie and I am super pleased with how it turned out.

My first attempt at making corn pudding using my mom’s recipe. Personally not a fan of corn pudding, however my family ate this up.
