There are many new teachers this year at Woodford County High School. But one that instantly came to my mind was Ms. Shank. She teaches Special Education English and graduated from Asbury University in May. She also likes to enjoy watching  Netflix, drinking coffee and hanging out with friends.

I love hearing about the student’s days and what is going on in their lives!

— Ms. Shank

Shank started off her career here as a student teacher last year and she fell in love with teaching Special Education English. She always wanted to teach elementary students. Her mom was an elementary teacher, and her dad is a high school math teacher, and their influence got her into teaching. She had been involved in this community for about 4 years. She lives and teachers here and she is loving it. She said, “The people are so nice and welcoming! I love how small it is because it has a great sense of community and I tend to get lost easily and haven’t had much trouble navigating Versailles.”

When I asked what she most likes about teaching she said, “I love hearing about the student’s days and what is going on in their lives!” She wants to leave a positive impact on her students so they enjoy school more.

Welcome to WCHS Ms. Shank!
