Ms. Finny has been teaching for 18 years, but she only has been teaching at Woodford County High School for five. She loves to teach Civics and Government.

Civics prepares students to be citizens in the real world and be participants in our democratic system. All we have to do is turn on the news, and we see civics in action.

— Ms.Finney

Ms. Finney has this to say to our students: “I firmly believe that our students are the next generation of civic leaders, and each one of you will have an impact on our community, our state, our nation, and our world. Be the change you wish to see in the world. Each one of you has a voice and a choice to make this a better place. We have two ears and one mouth for a reason! Learn to listen more than you talk. Always remember to make a place at the table for everyone. We all have a story that is worth celebrating.”

Thank you, Ms. Finney, for teaching the students at Woodford County High School. You will be truly missed by the students and the staff. We hope you have a wonderful retirement from teaching. Good luck!
