Of all the movies that came out this year, the Emoji Movie was on top of the leader boards. However, there is a new contender: The Boss Baby.

The Boss Baby is another animated movie that have come out in 2017, and has a great cast of actors that reminds me of great talent. These actors are Alec Baldwin as Boss Baby, Jimmy Kimmel as Dad, Tobey Maguire as Tim, and Lisa Kudrow as Mom. Where there are great actors, there is a great movie (unless it’s the Emoji Movie).

Now this movie wasn’t seen as bad as other movies in the year and many people were surprised to see this; the reviews for the movie weren’t the best, but were seen as high praise for a movie that many people didn’t like when it was being advertised. IMDb gave the Boss Baby a 6.4/10, Rotten Tomatoes gave the Boss Baby a 52%, and the highest rating of all was from Google users who watched the movie and 87% liked the movie.

The plot of the Boss Baby is very different from other movies this year and of all time. The plot seems original and fun to watch. The animation, a lot like the Emoji Movie, is well done and seems lifelike. The animation on the eyes of most characters are a little too big but it’s not that distracting.

The story is about a boy named Tim. When he is 7, he gets all of the attention of his parents and he is having the time of his life. One day, the Boss Baby shows up at the door by way of taxi for some reason. Once the family takes the Boss Baby in, Tim is no longer getting all of the attention of the parents. This sparks a rivalry between the two. Soon after, Tim finds out that the Boss Baby is a spy and has to make babies more lovable than puppies again.

The animation in the movie is a lot like the rubber hose animation of the 1920’s, but in 3D. This animation style is where the limbs of characters don’t have many joints in their arms and legs. This does seem weird, but it looks good when it is put into effect, like when it is used in the Boss Baby.

Overall, the Boss Baby is a good movie but not the best this year. The animation and the plot of the movie are great. These two things could make the argument that the Boss Baby is better than the Emoji Movie.
