Spring break; the weather is finally getting warmer and sunnier, it is definitely the perfect time to be out of school! Lots of people use this time off to go on fun vacations to places like the beach, but vacationing may not always be an option; especially this year due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. So, if you aren’t able to go on a trip this spring break don’t let that get you down; don’t trip! There are still plenty of other ways to ensure you have a great time and make the most of your time off from school! Take a look down below for some fun ideas to spice up your spring break stay-cation.

Take A Hike

Kentucky is a gorgeous state filled with many places to explore. A hike is a perfect way to do so while getting some fresh air and soaking up some sun. A place you could consider checking out is Red River Gorge located in Stanton, Kentucky. Or, if you’re looking for something a bit closer to home, you could always try Cove Spring Park located in Frankfort, Kentucky.

Ikea

The front entrance to Ikea. (Unknown )

Located just outside of  Cincinnati, Ohio, the massive Swedish furniture store IKEA is a great place to go explore for a few hours. Even if you have no intention of buying anything, I promise you will have a blast checking this place out! It’s absolutely ginormous and it’s practically a maze with something new to see with every corner you turn! You can literally spend hours there, going through all the different rooms each with a unique theme. They even have a restaurant inside the store where you can try some Swedish food- I recommend the Swedish meatballs, they’re amazing!

At-Home Movie Day

A super cute aesthetic pillow fort! (Unknown )

This fun activity is perfect for a rainy day or a day when you don’t feel like going through the trouble of going out. Pick out some of your favorite flicks; maybe even do a series marathon (like Harry Potter or Twilight, for example). Make some of your favorite snacks and treats, and grab some pillows and blankets. If you’re feeling extra creative maybe try and make a pillow fort!

A Zoo Trip

The zoo is the perfect place to visit on a sunny spring day. There is so much to see and do! Get a group of your friends together or even just your family and head over to Lousiville, Kentucky to spend the day checking out some pretty cool animals!

Picnic

A perfect picnic on a sunny day! (Unknown)

Now that it’s springtime the weather is warmer, sunnier, the grass is greener, and the beautiful flowers are beginning to bloom. This the optimal time for picnicking! So, grab some friends and make some of your favorite food, or maybe even try picking up something from your favorite restaurant. Then, all that’s left is to do is to go outside and enjoy that food!

Craft Day

If you’re feeling creative and artsy this is the perfect activity for you! Go to your local craft store, like Micheals, and pick out some supplies. Maybe you want to try painting or even jewelry making. If you want to make bracelets you can even stop by Dollar Tree for some super inexpensive bracelet-making supplies! All that’s left now is to create! If the weather’s nice you could even try doing this activity outside, maybe even use the great outdoors as some inspiration for a painting!
