Spectacular Street Art

Kentucky is home to beautiful, individually crafted works of art, whether it be folk art, Louvre-worthy paintings, or Lexington’s famous street art. These murals vary from kaleidoscopic, whimsical, dark or historical, and are quite the eye-catching tourist attraction.

  • “Lincoln” by Eduardo Kobra. Located on 200 block of Water Street. This is the largest recorded mural of Lincoln and very brightly colored.

  • “Mind, Body and Soul” by Wasseem Touma. Located on 200 block of Vine Street. This artist let his Arabic roots shine in this kaleidoscopic mural.

  • “Unknown” by Phlegm. Located on 120 West Short Street, Lexington, Kentucky. The meanings and focus behind this piece are a mystery.

  • “A Tradition of Music on North Limestone” by Michael Burrell. Located on 601 North Limestone, Lexington KY. The artist focuses on the history of blues music in the North Lime area.

  • “Harry Dean Stanton Mural” by Graham Allen and Geoff Murphy. Located on 720 Bryan Ave, Lexington, Kentucky. This mural is to celebrate the annual film festival Kentucky proudly hosts in honor of actor Harry Dean Stanton.

  • “The Buffalo” by ROA. Located on 139 Luigart Avenue on North Limestone, Lexington, Kentucky. This piece shows a concept of life and death, in animals and humans.

  • “Lily and the Silly Monkeys” by Herekut. Located on 156 Market Street, Lexington, Kentucky. This is part of a sister piece by Herekut. Both murals tell a story.

  • “Moonshine” by How and Nosm. Located on Short Street between Broadway and Mill, Lexington, Kentucky. This whimsical piece was painted by brothers!

  • “The Nightwatchers” by Andrew Hem. Located on 145 West Short Street, Lexington, Kentucky. Hem is known for his depictions of otherworldy beings and creatures.

  • “I am MO” By MTO. Located on 1200 Manchester Street in Lexington, Kentucky. This artist is known for their giant murals. This piece depicts a street artist behind bars.
