Most people have no idea how good their body is designed to feel. Yoga has taught many the way to find true physical and mental happiness. With this mission in mind, students at Woodford County High School have been given the opportunity to take a yoga class within school hours to help them achieve their goal of becoming a certified yoga instructor.

Maggie Yeung has organized the amazing opportunity in order to make this class happen. She is the owner of Homegrown yoga and offers different types of classes every day. Yeung has been doing yoga for about fifteen years and teaching yoga for about five years. Yeung said, “The best part about teaching is being able to see people’s transformation as they learn the practice.” Yeung says that yoga has helped many people with anxiety and nerves including herself.

Reagan Caudill and Chap Hollin are both taking the class this year. When asked what the best part of the class is they both said they felt comfortable, relaxed, and to be free to speak whatever they need to say. Caudill said, “The reason I enjoy the yoga class is because of the step by step interactions. Hollin started to realize through the yoga class that he used some of the yoga poses in dance without even realizing it. Hollin and Caudill both said, “What made me take this class was the opportunity to be able to be one of the first people in the class, and it was something new that the school hasn’t had before.”

The class is located at Homegrown Yoga studio in Versailles. Make sure you stop by and give yoga a shot.
