The horror film Blumhouse’s Truth or Dare was released and directed by Jeff Waldo on April 13, 2018. The movie includes many famous actors like pretty little liar’s Lucy Hale and and Teen Wolf’s Tyler Posey. They play the roles of  a group of college students who have planed to go to Mexico on a spring break trip. Once the students get to Mexico, they run into some trouble with the well known game Truth or Dare.

At first it starts a silly game, but then it takes a turn and lives are lost. Sure the movie has a few twist and turns and constant pop-ups, but to sum it up it’s a two hour movie of truth or dare with a few gruesome deaths.

The plot of the story is brought up throughout the film but it doesn’t really make since. It’s also very rushed towards the end of the movie and many random actors appear throughout the film. The game continues to haunt the students by causing them to tell the truth and turn on each other; they are determined to find out how to stop the game and that’s where the ending comes in.

I won’t ruin it for you, but  I will say that the ending was the best part of the movie. It was unexpected and a clever way to wrap it all up and keep you wondering. I will say this wasn’t one of Blumshouse’s best films, I think the idea was there, but the plot was not.

I wouldn’t recommend this film for anyone expecting a scary movie, because it really wasn’t scary. Although there were numerous death scenes featured throughout the movie.

Overall, I would give this movie a 4/10 rating.
