The Question:
The question everyone asks a soccer player: “Why do you play soccer?” That is a good question but it has different answers. This seems like an easy question, that is very complex. Many of us take out hours of our lives to do this, but why? I play soccer with an under-16 league Bluegrass team and most of us have been playing together since we were kids. We might be 14 and 15, but we act like we are 5. My teammates always make soccer less painful and a lot more fun, so I decided to ask some of my team: “Why do you play soccer?” There are many surprising answers I received that I didn’t expect from some people.
The Answers:
-
Meghan Denton – “I play soccer because it gives me something to do with my time and I get to hang out with my friends.”
'
-
Dorrah Martin – “I play soccer because its a fun sport to get good exercise and all of my friends play it as well.”
'
-
Grace Parker – “I play soccer because I don’t wanna get out of shape and I will be lonely if I don’t play a sport.”
'
-
Eraye Monnin – “I play soccer because its a good way to stay in shape.”
