Thanksgiving is right around the corner and many people only have two things on their minds: family and great food. However, something equally exciting is only one day after: Black Friday. Often overlooked, Black Friday is the best day of the entire year to blow your ENTIRE budget on things you may or may not actually need. As an experienced Black Friday shopper, today I will share everything I know so that this year, YOU can get the best deals on the items you actually need.

Whether you’re going out to the stores or staying in to peruse the online deals, practically all of your favorite stores will be having drastically reduced prices. Typically, each year, major companies such as Amazon and Walmart will compete for the best deals. These include everything from electronics to cosmetics, and typically only last for 24-48 hours. Thus, time is of the esscence.

How do I know what to buy?

So…what exactly should you be buying on Black Friday? Experts agree that the best deals will be on electronics, home accessories, and clothing. Some items will actually be reduced even more after Black Friday, so if an item is only listed as 10%-20% off of the original price, WAIT. If something is listed as more than 30% off of the orginal price, you can beĀ guaranteed a good deal.

Where do I buy?

Each year, retailers greatly increase the size of online only deals, making online shopping your best friend. However, if you decide that visiting a physical store on friday, consider the outlets in Simpsonville. These stores already offer reduced prices on almost all items, and will certainly offer great deals on Black Friday. However, avoid places like the mall as EVERYONE else will have the same idea as you, and the entire area is bound to be extremely busy.

I missed Black Friday!! What now?

The very best deals on the market are most likely going to be from major retailers online, and some deals have already begun. Check on your favorite brands and do some research of your own. And if you missed out on Black Friday, don’t worry too much. Many deals continue through the entire Thanksgiving Weekend. After you finish eating your Thanksgiving meal, be ready to start shopping!

Anything else I should know?

Just know that practically everyone else is also trying to buy these deals, so don’t be discouraged if you don’t get exactly what you were looking for. Additionally, just because something is greatly reduced, doesn’t mean that you should buy the item. Retailers use this time to get rid of merchandise, so unless it is something you need/greatly need, do not buy it.
