Most of the students at Woodford County High School use social media. It’s just the reality we’re forced into. Not many use traditional calling or texting anymore. These days, most people use either Instagram, TikTok, or Snapchat to communicate. On each of these apps, trends change very quickly and very often. So I’ve decided to bring the latest stuff at the school that is trending.
Firstly, senior splashdown started recently and is off to a remarkable start. In case you haven’t heard of it, the competition is an assassin-type competition where you get assigned a target and must hit them with a water gun. There are some unbelievable betrayals each year, and hopefully this year proves true yet again.
Secondly, Many people have taken to social media after noticing their schedules were strange, to say the least. During the beginning of the year, I can recall many had Instagram notes that were critical of the scheduling. One student, Eli Brown, theorized the following: “I think they started giving people pathway classes and electives before they gave us our core classes.” This was further proven when his schedule had 4 classes that he didn’t sign up for. Overall, the schedules have mostly been fixed, but some still feel the stress of unwanted classes.
These are just two examples of stuff that has happened recently. It’s hard to know what will be trending even moments after this article is published. Even as this has been written, news stories have come out about different things. Trends aren’t always great to follow however, as writers here, we must focus on what is trending, but also what isn’t. With the time it takes to write articles, we may fall behind, but we will continue to write about anything and everything.
