It’s the last day of school, and the Yellowjackets are pouring out of their hive. The downtown streets are flooded with high schoolers driving to The Amsden, walking to the library, or running to grab a scoop of gelato from Spotz. Excited buzz fills the air- but it’s not just high schoolers celebrating the end of the school year. Business owners, employees, and locals alike congratulate the students on the end of a fantastic year. The windows of each building are painted with black and gold pom-poms, yellowjackets, and encouraging messages- and the system of support downtown is at the heart of understanding the Woodford County community.
This system reaches much further than many Woodford locals realize. From employing high school students to offering internship programs, businesses throughout Versailles directly contribute to the successes at WCHS. One of these businesses, with some unique opportunities for ambitious high schoolers, is the Woodford County Farm Bureau chapter.
