Woodford Girls tennis has put up a long and hard fight this season with competing at regionals and hopefully heading onto state. The team is winning the majority of their matches this season with only a few left playing in regionals at the moment. The Woodford County Girls Varsity tennis team includes Cassidy Stiefel, Piper Reed, Emma Kate Miller, Maddie Papero, Josephine Pereslucka, Isla Gorham, Abigail Caine, Ciara Marshall, and Addison Greenwell. All of these girls have excelled this season getting out of their comfort zones and participating in new sports and new positions on the team.
Cassidy Stiefel (12), #1 Singles this year just came to the end of her regional matches today with her 102nd match of her Woodford County Tennis career. Cassidy has put so much into the team and has set a wonderful example of what a good teammate and tennis player displays to the underclassmen. Cassidy excelled this season winning the majority of her matches and only losing 2 overall. Not only will Cassidy’s playing be missed but also her electric personality and companionship to her teammates by “always being there for them and being a smile that lights up the room”. Piper Reed (11), played both singles and doubles this season. Piper has been on the High School team since 2021, (her 7th grade year). Piper has excelled in many aspects of her tennis career over the years and brought an awesome light to tennis. Emma Kate Miller (12) joined tennis her freshman year and has been a key component to the Woodford Tennis team ever since. Her contagious smile lights up the court and brings victories to her in matches. Emma Kate has mostly played singles this season with a few matches with her occasional doubles partner Maddie Papero. Josephine Pereslucka (12) has been playing tennis since her Sophomore year and has won many of her matches this year. Joey is not only a great player but the kindest teammate. Ciara Marshall (11), Abigail Caine (10), Addison Greenwell (10), have won many of their matches this season.
Overall, this season has been a very meaningful and happy season for many of our players!
