School as we all know is almost out for summer, for many this just means a two month break, for some it’s their last year in highschool, while for others this year will be their first. However let’s take a recap before we get too far in the future, what happened this year, and what was it like for students and teachers?

To begin the start of the year was good, many enjoyed their last moments in the old highschool, while others were eager to move out. We had our last pep rally, which was great and filled with school spirit. We all gathered round in the gym in which we had music and fun activities planned, knowing it was the last pep rally in the old school made it pretty special and really exciting for many.  We had our last homecoming dance in the old school; we gathered in the cafeteria. Then we had that gas spill that one time. This year or at least the beginning of it was very sentimental for many, seniors were saying goodbye to what was their home for 3 years. Overall the beginning of the school year was great, but that’s just my opinion, let’s see what others think. 

According the Memphis Holz the first semester, ‘’ The first semester of the year was so much better than the second.’’ I totally agree with her because the work was less stressful, plus we were in the old highschool which had so much character, then the second semester came along and it just got bad. Anyhow let’s get one more opinion on the first semester of the school year, this time a teacher. ‘’ It was sad, leaving the old school, moving, it was sad,’’’ Says English teacher Mr.Corder. So we have many opinions on the first semester. Some felt it went well, some were sad about leaving the old highschool, overall either reports of stress, sadness or positivity. 

Now that we covered the first semester, let’s cover the second; a whole lot happened. After winter break we moved schools entirely; everyone nervous and lost because they don’t know where their classes are; and getting adjusted again. We had our first pep rally in the new school; in my opinion it had no school spirit and it kinda sucked. Plus the second semester was really stressful for me and my grades went downhill, friendships drifted and so much has happened overall the second semester was not great, but let’s get some other opinions, according to Memphis Holtz, ‘’the second semester was dog poop, because I think winter break demotivated everyone.’’ Than Mr.Corder reported that, ‘’ The second semester was was good, fun,  and not sad.’’ So we have differing opinions, some say they enjoyed the second semester while others not so much, it seems teachers enjoyed the second semester much more than students did.

Overall this year has gone by so fast and I can’t believe it’s summer time, it feels like the start was just yesterday, but overall the year was interesting and filled with so many emotions, to some the first semester was better than the second and for others vice versa. Overall That was our year here at WCHS. Students think the second half of the year was hell while teachers not so much, anyhow now that we recapped we wish you the best summer from our staff at jacket journal! Goodbye for now.
