This year, the junior class office took on the job of planning and decorating prom, and they did a wonderful job! The Prom 2025 theme was under the sea, and our gym was transformed into an ocean-themed oasis. Upon arrival, students were offered the option to either park themselves or utilize the valet service. Everyone was also handed a slip where they could write their names to be announced as they walked the red carpet. The Prom red carpet is a Woodford tradition, and it allows the community to be involved with the event. Parents and other Woodford County locals line the red carpet to watch students walk into the dance and admire their prom attire. Typically, Hemlepp Photography waits at the end of the red carpet to photograph each couple; however, he did not attend this year’s event. This was slightly disappointing as it gives everyone an opportunity to see all of the prom looks!
Inside the dance, there was a wide variety of snacks for students to snack on during the event. The space for prom this year was quite small as the gym was cut in half. Some students enjoyed the more intimate feel, while others wished things were not as crammed. Whether or not students wished the space was bigger, we can all agree that the gym was beautifully decorated. Balloons and vines were hung from the ceiling, and blue lights made the gym almost unrecognizable.
Although the dance is the main event, many students also take part in pre-prom activities, including dinner and pictures. The dance started at 8 however, many of us started our prom day much earlier. Despite the stress of coordinating and planning your prom night, once the day comes, it is truly magical! While the juniors have one more prom to attend, this was the last for the Class of 2025. While preparing for graduation and getting our plans for next year in order, prom is a much-needed break from the stress of school. It gives us a night to reminisce on all the memories made in Woodford County and let loose with our friends. Overall, Prom 2025 was a major success, and thanks to the junior class, a great night for all of us!
