The Ole Miss Rebels are soon to start the 2025-2026 season and are looking better than ever. After a 10-3 record in 2025 and barely missing the playoffs, this Lane Kiffin-led team is looking for revenge, with key players leaving, such as Quarterback Jaxson Dart, and receivers Tre Harris and Antwane Wells on the offense. On the defensive side of the ball, they are set to lose defensive lineman Walter Nolen and JJ Pegues, cornerback Trey Amos, and linebacker Chris “Pooh” Paul Jr. They are looking to build back bigger and better.
The Rebels have had a terrific off-season with the #15 recruiting class in the country and the #3 transfer portal class, with over 20 transfer portal commits. Ole Miss has landed top recruit after top recruit in 2025, with notable names such as 4 4-star defensive lineman Andrew Maddox and #16 safety in 2025 Ladarian Clardy. On the offensive side of the ball, they have landed 5 Star Winston Watkins as well as the #4 player in Tennessee, running back Shekai Mills-Knight. A loaded class that you can see a lot from in the near future and in the years to come.
Returning quarterback and set to be starter Austin Simmons is one of the most underrated and youngest quarterbacks in the country. The 2025 4 star quarterback who reclassed to the 2025 class was Jaxon Darts back up last season. Austin would appear in nine games for the rebels while throwing 19/32 passing for 282 yards and two touchdowns. Austin has made it very clear that he expects to win national championships for the rebels and lead them to the promise land.
The Rebels are going to play one of the toughest schedules in the country next year. Oklahoma, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina are all on the Rebels schedule this upcoming season. Expect to see one of the most entertaining seasons in football history. Ole Miss is also hosting cross-country opponent Washington State, as well as Tulane out of Louisiana. The rebels are projected to finish out with a 9-3 record, but don’t be surprised if they go unbeaten.
Ole miss was one of the best teams in the country in 2024 and doesent expect to step off the gas pedal, if anything, they expect to accelerate. The rebels are a young team with talent at every position and a top player in the country at every position. They are sleepers for the 2025-2026 national title, but are still very capable of doing big things. The high powered, Lane kiffin led team will win some big games. Mark my words.
