Recreational basketball is a basketball league that takes place at Falling Springs. Over the last eight weeks, four teams full of high school upperclassmen have been competing in the Falling Springs Basketball Gold League. These teams include the Heat (7-1), the Pacers (5-3), the Pistons (5-3), and the Celtics (0-8).
The Pacers and Pistons face off in the first round of the league playoffs as the second and third seeds, Wednesday, March 5th at 9 pm. These two teams matched up three times throughout the season, in which the Pacers won the season series 2-1. The other matchup includes the first-seeded Heat and the fourth-seeded Celtics, before the other game, at 8 pm. The Celtics have struggled all season, not winning a single game but coming very close multiple times. They also matched up against the Heat three times in the regular season, which resulted in three of their losses. Then, the winner of these two contests will face off on Saturday, March 8th, at 4:30 pm, for the league championship.
Despite the winning records for the Heat, Pacers, and Pistons and the winless record for the Celtics, anything can happen in the playoffs, and no wins are guaranteed. Admission to these games is free, so come out and support your fellow Jackets.
