Dreams are known to be images and stories that are made in our minds while we sleep. Usually each individual is believed to experience at least three to six dreams per night. However, we may only remember some of them. Dreams also can help you learn and develop long-term memories. Dreams are considered ways our mind subconsciously processes thoughts, events, and emotions. Some can even represent unconscious desires and wishes. I am explaining all this because I wish to share some of my dreams and what I believe they represent since this topic fascinates me, and others are fascinated with it, too.
The first dream that I can remember was bizarre. It took place during the end of the world, the zombie apocalypse. In the beginning, I was with a group of survivors and was in charge of mostly the harsh decisions that the others couldn’t find themselves to make. I believe I also somehow became the “leader” along the way. We eventually ended up meeting another group of survivors who had bad intentions. They wanted to trick us, and I made them believe that they had by leading my team to them so we could have the upper hand before they did. I don’t remember much after that. However, I think this dream represented my desire to make choices that helped me and benefited others. And I have to overcome my fears of making those decisions, even if I don’t know the outcome.
My second dream was on a cruise ship. There was a murderer on the boat, and everyone was running around trying to hide or stay away from those who they didn’t trust. When this dream occurred, I was highly obsessed with true crime documentaries, which is most likely the cause for the plot of this dream since the subconscious mind takes things from when we are awake. Things we see, hear, experience, think, etc. Anyway, I didn’t encounter the murderer. I just remember a lot of chaos happening because everyone was panicking. While running, I was stopped by someone who dragged me into a room, and he became my ally. I believe he had blue hair, but his face was marked entirely out black. After that, everything’s a blur. I don’t think we got out before I awoke, though. But I want to say that I believe this dream symbolizes the want to have people I can rely on when everything is going crazy around me, and I can’t handle it alone.
The last dream I can recall is shorter than when I was younger. I was just around my friends and family the whole time. Everything was good initially; we were celebrating something, and I couldn’t tell what. Eventually, I was asked to go somewhere for a few seconds, and when I returned, everyone was gone. The setting was dark, empty, and scary. I remember feeling hurt. After it set in that I was alone, I believe I scared myself awake. I was panicking and almost crying. This dream could show my fear of being abandoned and left alone.
Dreams can be meaningful, and sometimes they can be random. The ones you can remember are there for a reason; they might have deeper meanings. If you’re like me, I suggest reflecting on them sometimes. It might help open your eyes and shed some light on something about yourself or be an interesting thing to do when bored. After all, our unconscious selves communicate with us with things we might not be aware of when we are awake.
