Cincinnati Bengals ownership is a problem and preventing this team from winning. For example, the Bengals right now sit at 4-8 with arguably the best Quarterback and Wide Reciever duo in the league with that being Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase.
But then you ask why is this team 4-8 with this offense averaging 27 points per game this would be because the defense is the worst in the whole NFL and this falls on the ownership of the Cincinnati Bengals franchise. For example, their free agent signings over the past 2 years have been atrocious they refused to make big signings on the defense.
This past year they let defensive tackle DJ Reader go because they thought they could fill that gap with a worse player in Sheldon Rankins this year Sheldon has played very few games and missed the past 3 due to illness and when he has been on the field been a nonfactor.
Another glaring flaw in this defense is the safeties 2 years ago they let Jessie Bates go instead of signing him and he has been arguably a top 3 safety in the league with the Atlanta Falcons. They tried to fill this void with Safety Geno Stone who has graded out to be the worst safety in pro football this year.
The Bengals defense has glaring flaws all over it the reason for the outrage from fans is that the Bengals are wasting the prime years of Burrow and Chase because the defense is so bad. So if ownership doesn’t do any better this offseason you will see this story repeat for years and years to come.
