The 2024 Kentucky football season was one of the most disappointing in recent memory. The reason for this was all the talent they had gotten out of the transfer portal as well as getting 2 star wide receivers back and a projected first-round defensive tackle back as well in the portal.
Kentucky got a wide receiver from North Texas named Jamori Maclain who was very underused all season long but did announce he was returning for the upcoming 2025 season. They also went and got a former 5-star quarterback named Brock Vandegriff which never really did pan out. However, I wouldn’t blame most of the struggles on him the struggles on the offense started with the offensive line being atrocious all year they never really gave Brock a chance to throw.
This whole season raised questions as to whether the University of Kentucky should make a change at the top this being Mark Stoops. It does not look like he will step down or anything due to saying he is coming back in numerous press conferences after the Louisville game.
The optimism is not great with fans as they don’t think he can turn it around but multiple talented freshmen this year including QB Cutter Boley and RB Jamorion Wilcox seem to be returning. But the big thing that has to get better is the offensive line to have a successful season next year with a really tough schedule this upcoming season.
