Just For The Summer – By Abby Jimenze
Abby Jimenez is a romance novelist and baker. She has written nine books and two series, Part Of Your World ( 2019 – 2021 ) and The Friend Zone ( 2022 – 2024 ). She also owns a bakery in Minnesota and California: Nadia Cakes. She actually won The Cupcake Wars on the Food Network back in 2013. She has accomplished so many amazing things in her life, but one thing that she has done outstandingly is her book Just For The Summer.
I will be honest, I had not read a book just for the pleasure of reading since freshman year. But I saw this cute book in a little book store in Ludington, Michigan and I honestly got it just for the cover. I got to the beach, read the back of the book, and I was hooked. I have read romance novels before, but never one like this. The story was realistic but had some unique plot twists throughout the story.
The story is about a travel nurse, Emma, and a computer tech, Justin. Both protagonists have a “curse“ that their ex finds their soulmate whenever they break up with someone. They decide to date each other to break the curse, and they only have one summer together.
If you like romance novels, this is the book for you. I loved this book and I am not usually a reader. So for me to have finished this book in one week, that is saying something. It has some mental health and family trauma so it’s good to be aware of that before you read it. Truly, this book was so well written, it was an easy read but so enjoyable.
