This year has been an excellent one all around, but especially for the Jacket Journal. We have all come so far and this has been a huge year for us. Sadly, the end is here and we must say goodbye to our seniors. So this article is a message about them. I asked everyone in the class their final standing on the jacket journal and whether or not they were leaving. Here is the response from everyone, along with everyone’s advice for the jacket journal.
Jonah Savage
Advice: Keep building what we did this year! Jacket Journal has made so many strides in growing from the program it used to be. It is full of life now and has dedicated students that are passionate about the work. And listen to what the people want, but also write what you love. Don’t Forget to Keep it steady! I’m so excited to look back in a year and see what the underclassmen here now do, along with new members that find a love for journalism.
Brandon Bishop
Advice: Don’t fall behind on work!
Gavin Banks
Advice: I would highly recommend it. It’s a chill class and you get to discuss news and write articles about anything you find interesting.
Tess Thompson
Advice: Write about things you’re actually interested in instead of just mindlessly writing articles for the grade.
Jackson Pinks
Advice: Be creative, express yourself, and never doubt yourself on a good idea.
Addie Clayton
Advice: Be assertive and write how you feel ( but ofc keep it appropriate lol 🙂
Landon Sears
Advice: Be as involved as you can, whether that be in group discussions, helping others get ideas, or writing in the class.
Lily Slayton
Advice: Keep being bold and creative!
Jayden Oakley
Advice: Don’t be scared to ask for help from the seniors and juniors. Most of them are nice (sometimes)
Greta Lloyd
Advice: Write what you are passionate about because it makes writing articles more fun and exciting.
Elizabeth Jackson
Advice: Be passionate. Don’t be afraid to talk about topics that may not be received well by some. Trust that you have important things to say. Lift others up for their victories, and your time will come.

Advice: Stay on track and constantly look for an article idea so that you won’t have to scramble looking for one last minute. Also, talk with your classmates as they can be very insightful and help you out.
Zach Meckley
Advice: Have fun while working.
Sam Dowdell
Advice: Just have fun with it.
Elijah Martin
Advice: If I had to give any advice to future reporters and writers I would tell them to always be looking for a story to tell, and not to hold back if it challenges whatever is “normal.”
While it is sad to say goodbye, I have the pleasure of doing it with a smile. I would like to thank the entire Jacket Journal. It has been an honor to be here and it is of the highest honor for me to say… Goodbye Jacket Journal
