As of February 12th, the NFL season has officially come to an end. Unfortunately, this felt like the fastest NFL season has gone by. After the season has come to an end, fans are left to reflect on how their team finished off and how they can improve for the next upcoming season.
This average win total throughout the league was around 7.5 wins which is pretty poor. Despite the win totals, a lot of exciting stuff happened throughout the year. The Lions made a conference championship game for the first time in 32 years. The Chiefs added a new person to their roster with that being Taylor Swift. CJ Stroud ended up winning the Offensive Rookie of the Year and Will Anderson Jr won the Defensive Rookie of the Year. Myles Garrett won Defensive Player of the Year and Christian Mccaffrey won Offensive Player of the Year. Finally, Lamar Jackson ended up winning the MVP award.
However, there were a handful of season-ending injuries with that being 22% of starters having a season-ending injury throughout the year. Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles in week 1. Anthony Richardson had to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery in week 5. Daniel Jones tore his ACL in week 9. Deshaun Watson had a broken bone in his throwing shoulder. Joe Burrow had a torn ligament in his wrist. Kirk Cousins also fell victim to an Achilles tear. This was just a list of all the quarterbacks who were forced to sit on the bench through the year due to injury.
The NFL playoffs were very exciting this year with a lot of people hating the final match with that being the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. Despite all of America being against them the Cheifs managed to rally back despite being down early in the game 13-3. They ended up winning the game in overtime 25-22 with Mecole Hardman Jr making the game-winning touchdown grab.
Some teams did very poorly throughout the year such as only winning two games while others held their own and found themselves in the playoffs. With the season over and the draft approaching, NFL fans are wondering what direction their team will go in to make improvements for next year.
