Having an undefeated season through an entire season is one of the hardest things to accomplish and is rare for any team to do. It is even more rare for a team to be able to do this in two different sports. However, one team is on pace to accomplish this goal and make history. The only undefeated team in both College Football and Men’s College Basketball is the Liberty Flames.

    Liberty football just wrapped up a perfect season so far going a perfect 12-0 through their regular season schedule. Their quarterback Kaidon Salter finished with a top 10 quarterback rating in all of college football with 39 total touchdowns and leading the team to a top 5 spot in college football for total yards per game. Liberty has found the most success in their running game. They average the most rushing yards per game in all of D1 college football with nearly 300 per game. Liberty has once again won their division by a landslide and will be playing in the Conference USA championship game against New Mexico State. Liberty is favored by 10.5 points and looks to win the conference championship and remain undefeated.

    As the College Basketball season just tipped off, the Liberty Flames have started a perfect 6-0 winning the Myrtle Beach Invitational and defeating every team by at least 10+ points. Kyle Rode is leading the team with 16.3 points per game and winning Myrtle Beach Invitation MVP. Liberty is set to face one of the hardest teams on their schedule next. They play at #13 FAU in the Field of 68 Tip-Off. FAU has been very solid this season, defeating teams such as Virginia Tech by 34 and #12 Texas A&M by 7. The streak of being the only undefeated D1 program in basketball and football is on the line on Thursday against FAU and Liberty hopes to keep the streak alive.
