A new year at Woodford County High School has begun! This year will be as good as the previous one, but if you ride a car to or from school you may have noted something unique recently. As you walk into the building after being late, you may have seen the new call buttons. Our current superintendent, Danny Adkins recently added these call buttons as a security measure to prevent intruders. These types of security systems have started to be introduced into many Kentucky schools including Fredrick Douglas. In the long term, these new security measures are sure to aid our students in succeeding.
All you need to do to get in is press the doorbell button and wait for a response from an employee. It features a two-way communication system so when they ask you questions you can simply talk to them. The call box also comes with a camera positioned into it which could capture an intruder’s face.
Simply put, the new call box is going to be useful for protecting the school. The new school’s completion is close to being finished, the call boxes will hopefully be implemented there too. This is supposedly a new decision for the entire district. This is just the beginning of Mr. Adkins’s recent role as superintendent, we can hope for more additions like these for the future of Woodford County.

Amazing job describing the process and how the call boxes came to be. Hopefully, they help the school in a major way.
