Take it back to eight years ago, Mick Fleetwood took his daughters to the Rose Bowl to see the boy band One Direction perform. When they were taken backstage, so his daughters could enjoy the glory of meeting One Direction, he was introduced to Harry Styles. Fleetwood says they “really connected” as stated in Vogue’s showcase of Fleetwood. Eight years later, Styles has asked Fleetwood to be the first campaign star for his cosmetics brand Pleasing. Here’s a rundown of the background of Pleasing and Fleetwood’s feelings about being the new campaign star of Pleasing.

Pleasing created by Harry Styles consist of post-consumer plastics and compostable paper printed with bio-sourced links, as well as plant-based nail polishes.  Styles states that “We also totally understand that we are putting more product into the world, so if we are going to do that, then we have to do it the right way. Pleasing may be a brand created by an A-list pop star as well as an actor, but Styles says he doesn’t just want to make a product by putting his face on it, he wants to put thought and creativity first. This lays out Fleetwood into the mix, as he enjoys creativity and expression.

Mick Fleetwood is the co-founder, leader, and drummer of the rock band “Fleetwood Mac”. Since 1967 they have been making countless hits like: “The Chain,” “Dreams,” and, “Rumors” which allowed Styles to quickly draw his mind to the band as a young child. As he grew up on the band, his interest, as well as his talent and fame, grew, which gave him the chance to meet Fleetwood Mac’s own Stevie Nicks. Nicks and Styles now have a close relationship performing together, accepting awards together, and

Harry Styles and Stevie Nicks performing at The Forum together.

Nicks even calls Styles her and Fleetwood’s “love child” She as well as supported Styles in his cosmetics brand.

Pleasing launched their new products on March 15th that Fleetwood modeled. Fleetwood believes nail polish is about “having fun” and wearing the polish makes him “actually connect with what he is doing”, he even says he kept the polish on for two weeks after the shoot.

Fleetwood represents what Pleasing wants, creativity, expression,  and having that “who cares?” mentality. Fleetwood himself even was accompanied by polish in the 60s and 70s, just like Styles. The similarities between these two make them the perfect team and Fleetwood the perfect campaign star to represent Pleasing.
