Three Often Overlooked Moments in Black History

Recounting three important moments in Black History: the devastation of Black Wall Street, the rise and fall of the Black Panther Party, and the Stonewall Riots birthing STAR and the Gay Liberation Front.

With the recent news of a Utah charter school, Maria Montessori Academy, allowing the option for parents to opt their children out of learning about Black History, it seems that it is now more pertinent than ever that real and uncensored Black History is taught in classrooms throughout the nation. Many important figures and moments are often left out of class discussions so, I am highlighting three historical moments in Black history that I think everyone should know about. Read on to find out more about the destruction of Tulsa’s Greenwood District, the rise and fall of the Black Panther Party, and the Stonewall Riots being the birth of STAR.
