Nicholas Crowe: Lacrosse

Nicholas Crowe plans on going to the University of Kentucky and studying mechanical engineering.

Nicholas Crowe is a part of the class of 2020 at Woodford County High School. Crowe started his athletic career in 7th grade in Lacrosse and has been playing year-round ever since. The decision to play came from some friends being on the team and having an interest in the sport. So how about we get to know Senior athlete Nicholas Crowe?

What is your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment is setting a state record for points in a game with 15.
What was your fondest memory of playing this sport?
My fondest memory is all of it–I played with my best friends for years; it was the best time of my life.
What position do you play? What is your number? Are you a Captain?
I’m an attackman, I’m number 14,  I have been a captain for 3 years.
What is your personal goal for this sport?
To play club ball at UK.
What foods or drinks help you gear up and stay energized for the game/event?
I don’t eat prior to games I feel like I move faster.
What is the best part about competing?
The best part about competing is the sense of trust and determination among the whole team.
What emotions do you feel when you play well?
I feel pride and joy.
What is your favorite song to listen to prior to competing?
Prior to playing, I always listen to a country song usually Shake the Frost by Tyler Childers–it keeps me calm and focused.
What do you do to calm your butterflies while you compete?
Depending on the game I either just talk to my defender about random stuff.
How does athletics make you a better student or worker?
Playing sports sets a mindset of determination to see a task to the end regardless of the outcome and it’s a good trait to have in life
What advice would you give your underclassmen?
I would tell the underclassmen to not take it for granted because it’s over too soon.
How has playing this sport affected you for your future?
Playing has prepared me for more to come in life it has forged some of the strongest relationships in my life and has given me purpose and drive.
Where do you plan on going to school next year? What do you plan on studying?
I plan on going to the University of Kentucky and studying mechanical engineering.
Who is your role model? Who do you look up to?
My role model is my father; he works hard and he never gives up he has always pushed me in sports and made me who I am today.
