Ms. Wheatley Q&A

When did you first become interested in nursing? 

I think when I was in elementary school. My aunt was a nurse, she delivered babies. I was sure I was going to be a labor delivery nurse. I delivered my first baby in nursing school and I never wanted to do that again.

What do you love about your job?

I like relationships more than the job of taking care of wounds. I really like talking to people and getting to know families.

Did you have any previous nursing jobs? 

So I’ve been a nurse for 22 years. I have worked in critical care and surgery mostly. I’ve kinda moved around the country. I have triplets, so when I had my kids I stopped working for a little while. They now go to school here in Woodford County.

What interested you about WCHS? 

Being able to talk to kids on the same level, I love this age group of kids.

How do you feel about this year so far?

It’s good, it’s busy. I like being busy. It makes the day go by really fast.

What’s your favorite type of music?

I’d probably say I have a collective taste; I honestly like everything from 90’s rap to pop music anything.

Do you have any secret talents? 

I sing. I started to sing when I was a little kid in church. Then every football, volleyball game, basketball game I would sing the national anthem.

What’s our favorite type of food? 

Sushi, I love sushi.
