Dr. Bell Buzzes Into the Hive

Welcoming Dr. Bell to WCHS

Dr. Drake Bell is the new interim Principal at WCHS. He was a high school football coach for a long time and was a high school Associate Principal for awhile. “I have been an Athletic Director for two universities for a while. I have been a Principal for a middle school with 900 students two years ago. I was superintendent of a district last year, and now I am Principal of WCHS,” Bell said.

He became a Principal because he really enjoys it. He taught Biology for 25 years and he did it every day for five hours a day. He really likes kids and wanted to be a teacher but eventually, he did it long enough. Then, he became an administrator.

He likes WCHS because it is the nicest school he has been in for a long time. “You can always tell the school is really good for two reasons.  Number one reason is how the halls look. Are they shiny, bright, and cheerful? Number two is how the students act in the cafeteria. Our school is very good compared to a lot of other schools,” said Bell.

Dr. Bell said, “I appreciate them letting me be a part of their lives because I am the old new principal. I know Principal Akers was really revered here and everybody really enjoyed him. I am glad the students accepted me as a part of the WCHS team.”

Thank you, Dr. Bell for coming to WCHS. We are happy to call you a Jacket and hope you have a great year at WCHS!
