Nancy Ayer Basham: Versailles Resident for 16 Years

Nancy Ayer Basham was born and raised in Owensboro, Kentucky, for 20 years. From 1969 to 2004 she lived in Lexington but then moved to Versailles in 2004. She has lived here since then.


What is one of your favorite things to do in Woodford County?

Taking a drive, then going hiking.

What makes you smile?

Horses and foals in the fields and pretty flowers and trees.

What is your favorite activity or hobby?

Sewing a project or cooking.

What is one of your favorite moments with your friends in Woodford County?

Having lunch in Midway and then browsing the shops.

What would you say to people just moving to Woodford County?

It’s a quaint, lovely area. Not much to do for entertainment, but a good area with parks for sports participation for children and families. It’s a great area to get away from big towns inf you’d like.

What is one of your best stories from Woodford County?

I especially like the time relatives came in for your parents’ wedding and we went on a tour of several horse farms.
