What is your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest athletic accomplishment was winning a tournament my travel team was competing in. At my old school, we didn’t win too much so to be able to compete and succeed on a higher level was very reassuring to me.
What was your fondest memory of playing this sport?
My favorite memories are those that were just normal days. I’m going to miss the joking around before practices while we put our gear on, the rides to games, just the sense of camaraderie we had found in every team I’ve played for.
What position do you play? What is your number?
I play attack. I am number 3.
What is your personal goal for this sport?
My personal goal has always been to become a collegiate athlete.
What foods or drinks help you gear up and stay energized for the game/event?
I usually just stick to water or Gatorade/Powerade.
What is the best part about competing?
My favorite part about competing is the adrenaline and seeing yourself execute things that you work on in practices.
What is your favorite sports quote?
My favorite sports quote is from Tim Tebow, “I can’t control the naysayers. I can control my attitude and my work ethic and my determination and that’s what I’m focused on now.”
What emotions do you feel when you play well?
When I play lacrosse I feel a sense of pride.
What is your favorite song to listen to prior to competing?
My favorite song to listen to before games is Hold Me Back by KB.
What do you do to calm your butterflies while you compete?
To calm my butterflies, I usually just pass the ball around with a teammate.
How does athletics make you a better student or worker?
Playing lacrosse has made me a better student by forcing me to put time aside to get my work done off the field so that I can stay on the field.
What advice would you give your underclassmen?
I would advise underclassmen to practice with the same energy they are going to bring onto the game-field. Play every game like it’s your last because after an injury junior year causing me to sit that season and coronavirus complications with my senior season, I can say honestly that you’ll never know when will be the last time you take your pads off.
How has playing this sport affected you for your future?
Playing lacrosse has taught me countless life lessons and also directed my college decisions to some extent.
Where do you plan on going to school next year? What do you plan on studying?
I have committed to Mount Vernon Nazarene University and plan on studying Business and Christian Ministry.
Who is your role model? Who do you look up to?
My role models would definitely be my parents. I can always look to my parent’s example of a good work ethic and loving those around you.
If you were an animal what animal would you be? Why?
If I could be any animal I would choose to be a dog–who doesn’t love dogs?
