Delaney Enlow: Basketball & Softball

Delaney Enlow has committed to Louisiana-Lafayette and will be studying mechanical engineering.

Delaney Enlow is a part of the class of 2020 at Woodford County High School. Enlow started off her athletic career with Softball at the age of 4 deciding to play to follow in the footsteps of her brother. In addition, at the age of 6 Enlow began playing basketball making the choice to play the sport as a fun sport, but as time went on, she fell in love. So how about we get to know Senior athlete Delaney Enlow?

What is your greatest accomplishment?
For basketball, my greatest accomplishment is my 2000 points. Softball’s greatest accomplishment is being signed to play in college. 
What was your fondest memory of playing this sport(s)?                                              
My favorite memory was hitting a buzzer shot during my first year of varsity. My fondest memory is hitting the winning home run in the regional championship against Scott County. 
What position do you play? What is your number? Are you a Captain?
I play center, 54, yes and, I play first, 24, yes. 
What is your personal goal for this sport? 
My personal goal is to hit 100 home runs in my life.
What foods or drinks help you gear up and stay energized for the game/event?
I drink Monster Hydros.
What is the best part about competing?
The best part about competing is playing with my teammates and getting to laugh and cheer with them.
What is your favorite sports quote?
“Hard work beats talent if talent doesn’t work hard.”
What emotions do you feel when you play well? 
I feel the excitement of playing good and it gets me hyped up for the whole game.
What is your favorite song to listen to prior to competing?
I like to listen to Icky Thump.
What do you do to calm your butterflies while you compete? 
I don’t usually have butterflies, but if I do, I just jump around till they go away.
How does athletics make you a better student or worker?
I think sports have taught me to get things done rather than do them halfway.
What advice would you give your underclassmen?
Savor every moment, make every achievement a big one.
How has playing this sport affected you for your future? 
I will be playing softball in college but both sports have taught me the skills to be successful in all parts of my life.
Where do you plan on going to school next year? What do you plan on studying? 
I am going to Louisiana-Lafayette and will be studying mechanical engineering.
Who is your role model? Who do you look up to?
I look up to my dad. He has continued to work hard his whole life.
If you were an animal what animal would you be? Why?
I would be a rhino because I hit hard in everything I do.
