Brittany Sherrod: Lacrosse
Brittany Sherrod plans to continue her academic and athletic career at Gardner-Webb University.
Brittany Sherrod is a part of the class of 2020 at Woodford County High School. Sherrod, a 2 x All American and an All-State Recipient has been playing lacrosse for 10 years deciding to because family and friends played. Sherrod also made the Kentucky National Team representing WCHS remarkably. So how about we get to know Senior athlete Brittany Sherrod?
What sport(s) do you play? Why did you decide to play? How long have you played this sport?
Lacrosse–I wanted to play because family friends played lacrosse. I’ve been playing for 10 years.
What is your greatest accomplishment? What was your fondest memory of playing this sport(s)?
I was #1 in the nation for goals scored last year and winning state championship my sophomore year.
What position do you play? What is your number? Are you a Captain?
Attack, #32 and yes, I am the captain.
What is your personal goal for this sport(s)?
To get the underclassman ready to play the sport and be confident without me.
What foods or drinks help you gear up and stay energized for the game/event?
Water and Cliff Bars.
What is your favorite song to listen to prior to competing?
Sunday Candy and Reckless Love.
What do you do to calm your butterflies while you compete?
Pray.
How does athletics make you a better student or worker?
It keeps me busy and motivates me to work hard in the classroom so I can play the sport I love.
What advice would you give your underclassmen?
Never take the game too seriously and stop having fun. Also, work hard and push yourself even when people aren’t looking.
Who is your role model? Who do you look up to?
My role model would be my friend who plays lacrosse for the University, her name is Maggie Foster and this is because of her hard work and determination to be a started her freshman year of college, which she is.
