“Woodford County is Home…”

Humans of Woodford County interview with local business owner Holly Kruse.

What is your favorite memory of Woodford County?

The Block Party that was held Downtown in the Summer of 2018. It was the first one I had been to, and it was some of the most fun I have had! It reminded me how much I love the Woodford County community and I’ve been to every single one since.

What is one of your favorite things to do in Woodford County?

I love the bourbon tours! I’m always recommending it to people. I didn’t know much about them before going on one, and now I’m glad I can speak to the experience.

What makes you smile?

My kids’ laughter.

What is your favorite activity/hobby?

Anything musical! I grew up playing the violin and the piano and even sang a bit. I’ve picked up the guitar and nowadays me and my daughter will have jam sessions in the living room! Music is my therapy.

What is one of your favorite moments with your friends in Woodford County?

Every New Year’s Day my family and I go to a family friend’s house, and we usually end up spending the whole day there. We all eat together and play games and just enjoy spending the first day of the new year together. It’s one of my favorite traditions we have as a family.

What would you say to people just moving to Woodford County?

Woodford County is home. Not only is it a beautiful place to live, but you’ll always feel welcome in our community.

What is it like working in Woodford County?

I own a salon in Downtown Versailles, and the Woodford County community is beyond supportive of small businesses. I always feel welcome, and I love that I can share my passion with the people who live here!
