Ms. Gonzalez Follows the Freshman Class
A new addition to the WCHS foreign language department
Caitlin Gonzalez is a Spanish teacher who used to teach at the middle school before coming here. She has been married for 3 years to her husband and has been teaching for 6 years. She taught at Owensboro and Jessamine county before coming to Woodford county.
“I heard great things about Woodford county before coming here and all of the things I heard were true,” she said.
She spends most of her free time with her husband and 2 dogs, and is expecting to have a baby in January. Ms. Gonzalez is very excited to begin a family.
She decided to become a Spanish teacher because she always loved the language and felt the best way to spread her love of it was to teach it to kids in school. You can find her at most local Spanish festivals and events, as she loves the culture.
“I never had any good Spanish teachers when I was in school and I didn’t want other kids to feel the way I did about the foreign language classes, because they never had a good teacher to take it with,” she said.
Mrs. Gonzalez just wanted to tell the students that “she is excited for the opportunity to teach them” and that she does have a group of students preforming a Latin dance at the Latino festival this year. WCHS is glad to have Ms. Gonzalez here fresh from the Woodford County Middle School.
