Mrs. Kim Walters-Parker is a joy to know in and out of the classroom. She is an excellent teacher and an amazing person over all.

Walter-Parker has been been a teacher for 18 years, but not all in a row. Overall, she has taught for 30 years. This year is her last year being a teacher. Her favorite memory of being a teacher is being able to help students set goals and accomplish them. She enjoys helping students meet their higher goals and seeing their happy faces when they achieve them. She feels that over the years her greatest accomplishment is being able to help students get their ACT scores higher and being able to help them get into collage.

…develop a long term plan way earlier than you think you need to because there is always a way to correct your mistakes and make other life goals if you plan ahead.

— Walters-Parker

Now that she is retiring she is going to be doing more new and exciting things. Walters-Parker is going to be working at Berea collage part-time, playing other important projects in the education department.  She is going to be involved in national work with teacher education accreditation and assessment literacy for teachers.

Her farewell advice for the students is to develop a long term plan way earlier than you think you need to because there is always a way to correct your mistakes and make other life goals if you plan ahead.

Thank you for your amazing service Mrs. Walters-Parker!  We wish you luck and happiness!
